Waylon Hanel Biography

Waylon Hanel is an up and coming traditional country music singer songwriter from Michigan. At just 22yrs old and completely self taught in 2018 Waylon took to music full time after graduating high school in 2020. Waylon Hanel had his first big direct support role in May 2021 for Trace Adkins. Since then Waylon has been direct support for other artists such as Travis Tritt, Jo Dee Messina, Ashley McBryde, Chris Cagle, Tyler Farr, Colt Ford, Creed Fisher, Mitchell Tenpenny, Jerrod Niemann, Lonestar, Ray Scott, Matt Stell, Chayce Beckham, Elvie Shane, Uncle Kracker and 2024 Texas Outlaw of the Year Billy Don Burns. In 2024 Waylon has direct support shows scheduled with Walker Hayes, Travis Tritt, Creed Fisher, Trace Adkins, Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye and Ward Davis.

Waylon’s first self titled “Waylon Hanel” EP was released in late 2022 with a sophomore EP titled “New Old Outlaws” being released in late 2023. Waylon’s first single “New Old Outlaws” released to Country Radio in early 2023 charted at No. 54 on Music Row Country Radio Breakout Chart and No. 2 on the Hotdisc Top 40 Chart. “New Old Outlaws” also made Hotdisc Top 30 songs of the year for 2023. “He Don’t Mind” released in mid 2023 also charted at No. 54 on Music Row’s Country Radio Breakout Chart. His current single “Lighten That Load” is at country radio now debuted on “Hotdisc Top 40 Chart” at No. 1 and stayed No. 1 for six straight weeks. “LTL” is currently sitting at No. 48 on Music Row Country Radio Breakout Chart, it also charted No. 3 on Nashville’s CDX True Indie and No. 30 on American Country Music Chart.

“LTL” was recently chosen to debut on Nashville’s PickleJar Up All Night Show on Cumulus Radio with host Patrick Thomas. Waylon was invited to play “Hit City Saturdays” at First Horizon Park Stadium before the Nashville Sounds minor league baseball game on May 4, 2024.
