We can't wait to be back at the venue we've played more than any other.... John Lee Hooker's legendary SF club the BOOM BOOM ROOM. Excited to announce local big dogs and surf grunge freaks The Happy's are joining as well, who you might recall from that raucous Dipdown 7 performance \m/

Blues fusion for the soul. The Hot Mountain Dips stay true to the classic San Francisco music scene with original free-form funkified bluesy grooves similar to the improvisation-heavy bands of the 60's. Their originals have taken the bay-area by storm, blossoming from this particular union of friends and talent that dips deep down into that greasy loud rock n roll of generations past. Constantly striving to be atypical, the dips feature a lead vocalist on drums with ripping slide guitar and bass lines dipping through extended periods of improvisation. Our debut album is on its way with special guest Pete Grant (Grateful Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage) and engineered by Oz Fritz (Oysterhead, Tom Waits, Primus, Les Claypool, Ramones, Iggy Pop).

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, The Happys have toured nationally garnering a strong cult following their guerilla marketing techniques and rowdy live performances. The Happy have won several awards most notably, they were voted 2022 Best Punk Rock band of the North Bay by The Bohemian and Pacific Sun. They have toured and shared with stage with a variety of acclaimed artists such as Sublime with Rome, Hobo Johnson, Sensi Trails, Dwight Yoakham, Mad Caddies and Del the Funky Homosapien. They have released 2 full length albums and an EP “Bipolar.”

Hot Mountain Dips Biography
Blues fusion for the soul. The Hot Mountain Dips stay true to the classic San Francisco music scene providing free-form funkified blues with tasty grooves similar to the improvisation heavy bands of the 60's and 70's. The dips create a show atmosphere where heckling and "Hot Dips!" chants are always recommended. Their originals have taken the bay-area by storm, blossoming from this particular union of friends and talent that dips deep down into that greasy loud rock and roll of generations past. Constantly striving to be atypical, the dips feature a lead vocalist on drums with ripping guitar and bass lines dipping through extended periods of improvisation.
The dips played some very memorable shows recently in the bay area with the likes of Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident), Scott Pemberton, Stu Allen (Phil & Friends/Mars Hotel), Jay Lane (Primus/Ratdog), John Paul McLean and Dave Hebert (of Melvin Seals and JGB), Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters), Jordan Feinstein (Jordan & the Ritual/Phil & Friends), and last but not least Mad Alchemy Liquid Lite Projections. We've also dipped down on the famed stages of Great American Music Hall, Sweetwater Music Hall, Slims, North Beach Festival, Lost Sierra Hoedown Festival, Brick and Mortar, Purple Onion, Boom Boom Room, crazy dippified buses to Dead & Co, and of course hot dips camp at High Sierra Music Festival where it all began.
