Greg in Good Company Biography

GREG IN GOOD COMPANY is rock ‘n’ roll full of heart and soul, led by modern-day troubadour Greg Gilman — a fiercely independent spirit who has made a name for himself in the Southern California music scene through his own critically acclaimed performances, as well as constantly providing performance opportunities for other artists through Writers ‘Round: Los Angeles.

“The songs are written for you to think, reflect and question. And that, is a very good thing,” OnStage Magazine wrote after listening to GIGC’s debut LP, 'American Way,' a 2018 record Impose Magazine described as “a stirring, heartfelt experience.”

”GIGC’s music is American to the core,” wrote Beats Per Minute while reviewing 2023 single 'HOME,' which the music blog praised for having “the heart and power of Bruce Springsteen’s best work.”

Cinematic melodies paired with heartfelt lyrics and irresistible harmonies have become hallmarks of the band’s unique sound — a mix of alternative rock, folk, country, pop and soul — topped off by Greg’s dynamic and raspy vocals, also drawing comparisons to Marcus Mumford, The Lumineers, and John Mellencamp. No Depression complimented GIGC’s first album for creating “truly powerful and cathartic vibes,” mixing “the the guttural soul musings of Ray LaMontagne with the jubilant psychedelic folk vibes of Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes.”

After 2019 single 'Monster’s Lair 'spent six months straight in regular rotation on one of L.A.’s most beloved adult alternative rock stations, 88.5 FM The SoCal Sound, GIGC slowly began recording and releasing more singles: '(Heaven Is) A Moment Here with You' premiered in American Songwriter before legendary DJ Nic Harcourt selected it as his “Fresh Squeezed Track of the Day”; 'Mulholland at Midnight,' a rock ballad paying tribute to one of LA’s most iconic roadways, premiered on 88.5 FM before Underground Music Collective hailed it as “a masterpiece”; and 'Just a Sunset' has been enchanting listeners since premiering on 88.5 FM as well. On June 21, GIGC releases their second LP — an album six years in the making — called 'Quiet Days and Quiet Nights.'

Additionally, Greg has been performing alongside Grammy winners for years as part of acclaimed artist collective Flight of Voices, and regularly hosts the best singer-songwriters from the LA music scene and beyond at WR:LA — the city’s only weekly Nashville-style songwriter round showcase, which has inspired artists to launch affiliated chapters in San Diego, Orange County, Knoxville and New Jersey, working toward the goal of becoming a national non-profit organization that builds, serves and connects independent music communities.

Greg has also embarked on several national solo tours, and took the band to Montana in 2021 to perform in front of thousands at the Red Ants Pants Music Festival. More recently, GIGC was invited to perform at the 2023 NAMM Show, and is busy this summer touring up and down the California coast this summer.

The band now features Marty Vites (lead guitar), Xavier Valdez (bass) and Jon Sarna (drums). Follow @GregInGoodCo on Instagram/TikTok/Facebook/Threads, and stream the band’s entire catalogue of music on all platforms.
