PeterHook est une figure emblématique de la scène post-punk britannique, membrefondateur de Joy Division et de New Order. Bassiste et musicien incontournable,il a contribué à façonner le son de ces deux groupes majeurs, dont l’influenceperdure encore aujourd’hui. Avec Peter Hook & The Light, il poursuit depuis2010 un travail de transmission de ce répertoire, revisitant sur scène lesalbums qui ont marqué l’histoire de la musique.

Peter "Hooky" Hook (born February 13, 1956 in Salford, Lancashire) was the bass player for the English Post-Punk band Joy Division, and the techno/rock band New Order.
Hook was a co-founder of Joy Division along with Bernard Sumner in the mid-70's. Together, they recruited vocalist Ian Curtis and drummer Stephen Morris to complete the quartet. The band reformed as New Order following Curtis' suicide.
In May 2007, Peter Hook announced that he and singer Bernard Sumner were no longer working together, which effectively spelled the end for New Order.
Hook is currently working on a new band project called FreeBass.
