The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world…Their story begins far past Uranus, in the deepest reaches of space, where the beings known as GWAR were warriors in the Scumdogs of the Universe, an elite fighting force in the army of the Master of All Reality. But GWAR proved too reckless and powerful, and after a series of tragic but hilarious blunders, they were banished to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, with orders to conquer an insignificant backwater prehistoric mudball known as the planet Earth. Once here, GWAR, the original Ancient Aliens, shaped the face of the globe, wiping out the dinosaurs, and mating with apes to create the human race. Having accidentally given rise to all human history, the Master of All Reality froze them in Antarctic ice where they could do no more harm. It was there they were discovered by a shady entrepreneur known as Sleazy P Martini, who sat the band down in front of professional wrestling, late-night horror movies and heavy metal music until GWAR became the cultural force they are today!

GWAR killed it as always. Best live show out there, by far. The crowd was also great, with lots of energy all night. I thought it would've settled down a little after GWAR played, but i was wrong lol.
Static-x put on an awesome show. The last time i saw them was 25 years ago. I was skeptical with the rebooted version, but they did great.
And last, but not least, the Archer Music Hall. I will definitely go to another show at this place. The staff was all very friendly, and always had a smile on their face. A lot of venues have miserable bar tenders & bouncers that seem to just not enjoy life. Not these people. Even the bouncers that were catching crowd surfers all night were pretty chill. They usually get sick of me lol.

Since forming in Richmond, Virginia in 1985, GWAR have not only managed to endure through various lineup changes, but have become one of the most beloved bands in all of metal. The only thing as sharp as their over-the-top lyrics is their mesmerizing live show which continues to make them one of the must-see, and most memorable, acts today.
At a time when bands have become bland, GWAR stands out for their performances and the intimate connection with their fans. Once the lights dim and the curtain rises, fans know what they’re in for: a night of theatrics, storytelling and humor that’s more Devo than KISS. Their iconic, signature barbaric interplanetary warriors costumes may be what the wider world knows them for, but it’s their shows that continues to resonate with their devoted following.
The push-and-pull between GWAR and their fans creates a visceral experience that continues to add to the band’s legend and legacy, one new tour at a time. Few, if any band, can break down a physical barrier with their audience quite like GWAR. Fluids fly, substances spray and the lust for copious amounts of fake blood [and cutting heads off, of course] leaves audiences thirsty for more.
