In just over ten years of existence, Hermetic Delight have already lived several musical lives. Somewhere between hypnotic rhythm and heady melody, a certain kind of deviant pop, the Strasbourg-based group has gradually enriched its sound signature with arty accents, indie impulses and transcendental music such as shoegaze and post-punk. The group was formed by Zeynep Kaya, a singer with roots in Ankara's punk and feminist scene, Delphine Padilla, a drummer and performer with a background in dance, and guitarist A. Diamond, who also played bass with Crocodiles and Harry Howard (Crime And The City Solution). Following the release of their critically acclaimed album F.A. Cult (Rolling Stone, Rock & Folk, Magic, etc.), the band returned with a series of singles in 2023-24, all of which bore witness to a certain kind of deviant pop. Mally?s reverence for the profound creates mysterious melodic lines and shares a luscious ambience with other contemporary pioneers. ?There are some compositions that were created to inspire, and Mally Harpaz?s 'Zoom In Zoom Out' is fuelled by them...
