When thinking about our 25th anniversary and who to invite to help us celebrate, one of the first acts on the list was Sandwell District. The collective comprising of Regis, Function and the late Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant has an incredible history here at the club. Having played here collectively and solo many times over the years and helming the iconic fabric 69 CD, they truly are part of the family here. After the tragic passing of our dear friend and Sandwell District member, Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant, we took time to consider whether we should have gone ahead with the planned show. Together with Karl (Regis) and Dave (Function) and with their blessing, we decided to turn this into an opportunity to celebrate Juan’s life and his lasting impact on Sandwell District, fabric and the scene as a whole.
