Jodie Nicholson Music Biography
Debut album 'Golden Hour' out now!
23-year-old singer/songwriter from Hurworth, on the outskirts of Darlington. Jodie is known best for pairing her melodic, angel-like vocals with soft piano or acoustic guitar. She often uses open tunings and layered harmonies to create a mellow, warm backdrop to her sound, influenced by the likes of Laura Marling, Daughter and Lucy Rose. Taking inspiration from personal experiences and relationships, her song writing is directed by feeling in the music. Her ethereal, alternative sound has an overarching theme of melancholy and longing, and remains present in every song.
In September 2019, Jodie released her debut, home-spun album, ‘Golden Hour’, described as a ‘compelling listen’ by NARC. Magazine editor, Claire Dupree. Featured tracks ‘In Spring’ and ‘Losing Track’ have gained consistent airplay since the album’s release on local radio shows, such as BBC Music Introducing on BBC Tees and The Indie Show on Bishop FM.
