Giant Biography
There are two bands that go by the name of Giant.
Giant is an American aor/hard rock band that was formed in 1987 by brothers Dann and David Huff. The band had one hit single with its power ballad I'll See You in My Dreams. They disbanded in the early 90's after two studio albums. Dann Huff revived the Giant name in 2001 with the album entitled, "III". Dann is a high-demand session player and producer in Nashville who has worked with many artists from Faith Hill to Megadeth.
The other band is an experimental doom metal band in the vein of Isis, Pelican and Neurosis hailing from North Carolina. They have released a EP (Song) as well as a split with past tour mates Tides. Giant blend innovative instrumentation, including strings and organ, with their heavy, towering, yet melodic sound. They uphold strong anti-capitalist, vegan, straightedge ideals, and both intellectual and deeply passionate elements can found in their music and lyrics. Giant has released music through Southern Empire records and Level Plane and recently signed to The End records.
