About this concert
I'm accompanying these two fantastic writers combining live for a magical double header with latest albums Drawing Lines and Lions Den.
Conjuring up the celestial sounds these ethereal singer-songwriters deserve.
****
Jess Vincent is a highly original artist in the folk/indie/Americana acoustic scene. Lions Den was recorded in her home studio in Bulgaria, where she moved to in 2017. The album brings with it a thread of the people, stories, colours, flavours and instruments from her new life there as well as Jess's trademark subtle arrangements on guitar, harmonium and uniquely soaring vocal. Jess will also be playing old favourites from her previous three albums.

“Jess Vincent doesn’t just Shine, she positively glows” Mike Davies for folking.com
“..one of the brightest stars out there… Vincent’s crystal-clear vocals sending shivers down the spine.” Malcolm Carter PennyBlack Music
Katie Whitehouse has been involved in music as long as she can remember - whether as a choir leader, composer and arranger, a poet and songwriter or as a successful agent for other rising and prominent folk stars. Finally, she has taken the time to pen her beautiful debut album Drawing Lines. Her writing is deeply felt and sincere and her debut album Drawing Lines is inspired by personal life experience, but with a universality that draws everyone in. Delicately arranged and yet exceptionally powerful - Katie's voice gently weaves her way around you, and into your heart.
“….evokes thoughts of Judie Tzuke” Mike Davies for folking.com
“This album has its fair share of moody storm clouds – the odd brisk shower. But also dazzling rays of sunshine. Perfect conditions for rainbows.” Arts Culture Mag

“Nothing short of beautiful – **** ” — RnR Magazine
“Wonderful production and writing” — Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music
“Subtle and delicate melodies” — The Sunday Times
Acclaimed Black Country singer-songwriter Dan Whitehouse has gained a reputation as “a fine songwriter, a unique vocal talent and a talented multi-instrumentalist/performer” (MAVERICK) across five solo albums including 2020 release Dreamland Tomorrow.
2022 the International Year of Glass - Dan is focusing on two album releases, serendipitously glass related (at opposite ends of the spectrum).
The Glass Age - songs which look at how our human experience and ways of connecting have changed through the ‘glass’, the screens, of virtual meetings and communication.
‘Voices From The Cones’ - an Arts Council funded Midlands-centric song-cycle which tells the stories of the community of glassworkers of the Stourbridge glass factory which closed in 1992. An important part of our industrial and social history.
