Deptford Northern Soul Club Biography

Deptford Northern Soul Club are childhood friends, Will Foot and Lewis Henderson, whose early love of soul developed after discovering Lewis’ Dad’s record collection. After finally bringing their musical heritage to the forefront with their debut DJ set at Deptford’s Bunker Club 7 years ago, they have since taken their credible and unique club night around the UK, performing at the likes of Glastonbury festival and Green Man, alongside a residency at Manchester’s YES, their beloved Bunker Club and London’s Moth Club.
Whether behind a turntable, dancing out front or in discussion, their sheer love and passion for soul is infectious, as is the spark of friendship and mutual musical appreciation between the two of them. DNSC have emerged as the new face of Northern Soul, bringing the movement back into the conversation of modern dance music.
On the back of the DNSC’s sold out debut in Bunker Club (Deptford, London) back in November 2016 the boys secured a monthly residency at the club. Making a name for themselves DNSC used their residency to give a platform to the best and most exciting young Soul DJs London has to offer. In June 2017, Deptford Northern Soul Club took the party to Glastonbury Festival, playing to a packed William’s Green tent and featured as the 20th best pick at the festival. The rest of Summer 2017 saw appearances at Peckham Soul, Deptford Pride, End Of The Road Festival & supporting Norman Jay MBE at his Good Times Goes East Carnival Party.

In Winter 2017 the party went on the road again highlighted by a support slot for The Manic Street Preachers and Sleaford Mods at The Roundhouse in Camden (London); with stops in Cambridge, Liverpool, Belfast, Dublin, Todmorden and Ilkley before a sold out New Years Eve party back in Deptford’s own Bunker Club.

2018 has taken the boys to new heights, boasting nights at Notting Hill Arts Club (London), Corsica Studios (London), SET (London), The Junction (Cambridge) and with a return to the Menagerie (Belfast); all before heading to Green Man Festival to play to a packed out crowd of well over 1.5k for the highly coveted After Dark slot at The Walled Garden Stage.
