Tras presentarse en el Corona Capital de 2019 y al lado de Jack White en 2022 en la Ciudad de México, Charlyn Marie "Chan" Marshall, mejor conocida como Cat Power, anunció su triunfal regreso a nuestro país, el próximo 17 de mayo de 2024 en el Teatro Metropólitan. Cat Power sings Dylan:The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert, es una aclamada recreación del icónico concierto de Bob Dylan en el Royal Albert Hall en Londres, Inglaterra (1966). Este concierto fue tan polémico porque hizo enfurecer a sus seguidores, al interpretar sus canciones acompañado de banda y una guitarra eléctrica, dejando de lado el folk. Tal como lo hizo Bob Dylan, la primera parte del álbum de Cat Power es acústica y la segunda está acompañada de una banda e instrumentos que recrean aquel concierto de 1966; este disco cuenta con las mejores obras de Dylan, como lo son: "Visions of Johanna", "Desolation Row" y "Mr. Tambourine Man".

As expected, this show was amazing! What a great venue to have an intimate performance. The sound system was excellent and really featured Cat Power's extraordinary voice. Bob would be proud of her renditions. Great supporting band! Would have loved an encore though. Maybe those going to her second sold out night will get that privilege.

Cat Power Biography
Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in the U.S state of Georgia on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City where, after opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee. In 1996 she was signed to Matador Records, and released her third album, What Would the Community Think, which spawned a single and music video, "Nude as the News".
