To Nic, being a singer means almost everything. He’s been singing since the age of 6 and in music he feels most alive. Through his previous bands About Blank and Feedback, Nic has been growing steadily and his style and skills continuously evolve. His strong controlled voice combined with his guttural growls and screams defines CODED’s sound, while his lyrics come from deep within to put life to the music. He has shared stages with SA’s biggest bands, and draws strong influences from Alter Bridge, Bush, Breaking Benjamin, Paramore, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars and Seether.

CODED serves to combine his experience with his new band members, writing catchy melodic songs with strong driving grooves and hard hard rocking choruses.

Charl has been playing guitar for 12 years, having covered hundreds of songs from a variety of Genre's including AltRock, Pop, Metal and Cross over. His main influences are Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit, Kirk Hammet of Metallica and Mark Tremonti of Creed/Alter Bridge, which all help to build his unique cutting sound. Having won multiple battle of the bands and having played in a few Cape Town bands, Charl creates strong melodies, catchy riffs and edgy solo's, and contributes significantly to the production and song writing process of CODED.
