Helena. are releasing their third single ‘Younger’ on all platforms on 8th December 2023, with a show to celebrate the release on Saturday 9thDecember, at Clancy’s Fish Pub in Fremantle, WA. The song is a crowd favourite, invoking nostalgic emotions from deep within the right hemisphere of your brain, and ending with a surprise acapella section of barbershop harmonies. The guys who comprise Helena. grew up together at the foothills of the Darling Scarp in WA. Childhood memories like playing old video game consoles, climbing trees at each other’s houses, and bombing big hills on skateboards, provide a wholesome glimpse into the retrospective mind of the band. The song tells a progressive story of growing up, then getting old enough to have beers with your mates and talk about all the cool stuff you’ve done together over the years.Influenced by the wealth of catchy pop-punk that characterised the early 2000’s, along with the oceanic, folky harmonies from the likes of Josh Pyke and Jon Foreman, the song is a satisfying listen. ‘This is one of the songs that we get the most comments about after a show. People come up to us and are like, “Oh man those harmonies were so nice! How did you guys learn to do that?” And we’re just like, “I dunno, I guess we all just love singin’!” So yeah, it’ll be nice to have it released so more people can listen.’  -Nathan (guitar, vocals)The guys are planning a longer set than usual for the 9th December Clancy’s show, which will showcase a crunchy concoction of their current repertoire, some cheeky covers, a few new songs, and of course ‘Younger’. Additionally, the band will be releasing some merch at the show for the first time ever. With support from local talent Jeff’s House and Moth Street Artists, it’ll be a show not to be missed. As an exciting way to wrap up 2023, Helena. are keen to finally release ‘Younger’, and they look forward to dropping some more tunes in the new year.
