Acolyte Biography

Hailing from Melbourne, Acolyte stand alone in the Australian music scene as a powerful and exploratory blend of classic and modern progressive rock.

To experience an Acolyte live performance is to embark on a mesmerising journey through theatrical melodies, crushing riffs, cavernous soundscapes, soaring leads and exemplary technical musicianship. Following the 2016 release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Shades of Black’ (Best Heavy Album nomination: Victoria Music Awards 2016,Best Live Performance shortlist: Oz Independent Music Awards 2016), Acolyte has become a staple on the Australian live scene - headlining their own national tours as well as supporting Prog-Metal legends 12 Foot Ninja on their national ‘Outlier’ tour, home town kings Jericco at their final show in Melbourne and alongside Voyager, Leprous and a host of others on the main stage at Melbourne’s PROGFEST.

Having signed with Incendia Music, Blood Blast Distribution and Wild Thing Records, Acolyte returned to the studio over the next few years to craft their follow-up to 'Shades of Black'. The amazing concept album titled 'Entropy' was released in May 2021, charting at #4 on the AIR music charts and garnering much critical acclaim. The band returned to the stage in 2021 with an incredible global live-stream event hosted at the prestigious Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne and are set to announce further performances throughout the coming months.
