Set Times:  7:30pm-8:30pm,  10:00pm-11:00pm,  11:30pm-12:30am   Irwin Hall is an award-winning, internationally renowned Brooklyn-based musician. He is a master of the flute, clarinet, and especially his first love, the saxophone. He attended Princeton University on a full ride to study East Asian foreign relations. He learned Japanese and after graduating, moved to Tokyo to work as a research assistant to the Editor-In-Chief at a major Japanese newspaper. However, he was unable to resist his calling and soon returned to the siren that is jazz. Hall has toured and performed with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Melody Gardot, John Legend, Charnett Moffett, and countless more. He has played in cities around the world including London, Tokyo, Prague, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Pori, Shanghai, and Melbourne and continues to perform and lead his own band. Irwin Hall has returned to his roots after nearly 15 years of traveling the world! Growing up in NJ in the last generation of Newark’s famed Organ Jazz circuit, the Irwin Hall Organ Trio is an unmistakable tour-de-force. From explosive funk and dripping blues, to deep swinging straight ahead and lush ballads, the band has crafted the perfect mix of Jazz, Blues, Soul and Gospel. For seated admissions, your ticket books you a reservation for a table. Please contact Black Cat to arrange your arrival time. Your table will be reserved for 2 hours. Please keep in mind that late arrivals will not be admitted. If you anticipate arriving after the scheduled time, please contact us to let the Maitre'd know. Can I come in and listen to the music without purchasing a ticket? Sure! If you would like to come in and listen to the band without seeing the show, you may join us in the Blue Room at Black Cat to enjoy specially curated cocktails and our full menu without purchasing a ticket. It's a great way to experience Black Cat. General admission tickets may always be purchased at the door if you decide you'd like to go downstairs and check out the show.   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Jerome Jennings Biography

Ask anyone who has ever experienced him play, he owns his music. Every sound, every moment of silence, has a purpose. The rhythm talks to you and the conversation between sound and emotion has always been the best recipe for good music, with Jennings you get both.

Jerome is a New York based drummer, composer, bandleader, sideman. His debut recording ‘The Beast’ was named one of the top 3 Jazz releases by NPR, received a 4 star rating in DownBeat Magazine, and nominated for the prestigious French ‘Grand Prix du disque’ award for Album Of The Year 2016. Jerome’s forthcoming recording ‘Solidarity’ will be released November 8, 2019.

Jerome has always valued education, teaching and the pursuit of excellence. In 2004 he graduated from Rutgers University Mason Gross School for the performing arts. Later, the summer of 2007 Jerome earned a MM from the prestigious Juilliard School in Manhattan NY. He’s travelled the globe administering student and teacher workshops on various musical forms intrinsic to the American experience. Beginning fall 2017, Jerome has accepted the position as Resident Director of The Juilliard Jazz Orchestra. Currently, Jerome is keeping extremely busy teaching, conducting clinics and educational youth out reach.
