About this concert
Tickets available locally at Ranch RecordsPuddle Of Mudd is an American post- grunge band from Kansas City, Missouri. The band has sold over 7 million albums and has a string of No.1 mainstream rock singles in the US. Their major label debut Come Clean has sold over five million copies.Ask Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin about the writing and recording of the album Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love Its all easy peezy, dude, no big deal at all...Not to him, maybe. Wes Scantlin is custom-made for the new millennium, a rock star without the pretense, and a frontman whose spontaneity propels his offstage personality as much as it does his onstage delivery. Wes is constantly adjusting to the vibe in the room, throwing his flavor in there and constantly trying to make people laugh, explains bassist Doug Ardito. He doesnt do the David Lee Roth thing, where he delivers the same lines every night, hes completely off-the-cuff.On Volume 4, Scantlin does deliver the same savvy lyrics that fans have come to expect since the bands multi-platinum debut, Come Clean, weaving subtle innuendo and not-so-subtle lyrical wordplay around vocal hooks so thick, they even seem to make lifes more sour realities easier to swallow. Case in point, Psycho, the smash single from the bands 2007 release Famous that rationalizes a relationship with, maybe Im the one, who is, a schizophrenic psycho.Famous, like both albums before it, was certified Gold after selling more than 500,000 copies in America alone. Propelled by Psycho, the album cemented Puddle of Mudds status as bona-fide hit makers, and earned them industry accolades including Billboards No. 1 Mainstream Rock Song of 2008 and No. 2 Rock Band of the Year, where they finished second only to the Foo Fighters. Keeping in that tradition, the new album goes down like the smoothest shot youll ever take. No chaser required - unless, like Scantlin and guitarist Paul Phillips, you opt for a cold, frosty one.Volume 4 is a homecoming for Phillips, who left the band shortly into the recording process for Famous. Despite the success of Psycho, something was missing, and when Phillips and Scantlin reconnected earlier this year, all the prior tension hadmelted away and their chemistry was rediscovered.Early Years (1992-2000)Puddle Of Mudd was formed September 13, 1991 by Wes Scantlin (vocals/ rhythm guitar). According to Wes, the band name was inspired by practicing next to the Missouri River levy which always inundated the bands practice space but never ruined their equipment because they were on the second floor. Their first album, Stuck, was released in 1994 on V it spawned two radio singles.2001- NowIn September 2014, the band released the non- album single Piece of the Action. In July 2015 band announced that they were recording their sixth studio album.

General admission is difficult for me since I can't stand for long periods of time. There was no alternative offered. Sometimes tickets are offered at the Club Level for an additional fee which I am happy to pay. The band performed well and the sound was good. It was nice that they had a nice mix of their new album and the older, familiar songs.

Puddle of Mudd Biography

Puddle of Mudd rise from the ashes with their sixth studio album in nearly a decade, entitled Welcome to Galvania. Formed in 1991, Puddle of Mudd has sold over seven million albums and has had a string of number-one singles, including the hits “Blurry,” "She Hates Me," and "Famous." The new album, Welcome to Galvania, was produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Disturbed, Motorhead). It also marks the band’s first full-length album since Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate in 2009.

“This album has been a long time coming. I’m just so happy to finally get it out there for my fans,” says Puddle of Mudd’s frontman, Wes Scantlin. “I hope the new music inspires my fans to live their lives. I’m just trying to crawl under people’s skin and help them through their life musically.”

Scantlin has provided Puddle of Mudd with lead vocals and rhythm guitar since the band’s inception. The origins of the band’s name came from the Missouri River flooding, damaging their rehearsal space.

Puddle of Mudd released their first major album, Come Clean, on August 28, 2001, which spawned the singles “Control” and “Blurry.” These hits propelled Puddle of Mudd to reach the No. 5 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This success led to the band venturing out on a full-scale European and American tour, hitting the road with Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots, and Staind. Come Clean reached triple platinum status in January of 2003.

The subsequent album, Life on Display, was released in 2003 and reached gold status. They went on to release Famous in 2007. In 2009, they released Vol. 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate. In 2011, the band released an album of cover songs, entitled Re:(disc)overed.

Now, Puddle of Mudd is ready to return to the rock scene with their sixth studio album, Welcome to Galvania. Inking a deal with Pavement Entertainment, their new material is primed to reach longtime and new fans. “Sometimes in life you come across people who want to bring you down and rip apart your soul. Well, those days are gone,” says Scantlin. “I have surrounded myself with a great team of people. They believe in me and I believe in them. I’d like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and perseverance. I’d also like to thank all of my fans for their patience. This is just the beginning. I have a lot more rock ‘n’ roll in me to share with the world!”
