Bug Biography

Bug is a common band name and refers to more than one band.

One Bug is a Japanese band that fuses synthpop, industrial, metal, and pop. They formed in 2001 and have been annually releasing albums and EPs.

The lineup consists of Kyo (die in cries, D'ERLANGER), on Vocals, Asaki (Guniw Tools) on Guitar, Takashi (die in cries) on Bass, and Takeshi (Valentine D.C.) on Drums.

The band originally featured SHIN MUROHIME (formally Kojima Minoru of The Mad Capsule Markets, die in cries, BLOODY IMITATION SOCIETY) and Souta Oofuruton (Oblivion Dust, HYDE) on Drums.

Another Bug is a pop-punk band based in Los Angeles during the latter half of the 1990s.
Founded and fronted by bassist Tom Murray, early Bug records featured Darryl Thompson on acoustic guitar(!) and Rob and Edward Valverde on drums and guitar.

Bug's early work incorporated more diverse elements including acoustic guitar, saxophone, cello, and leaned more towards the "pop-" part of their genre, with laid-back Santa Monica sounds and tempos, and the odd bit of then-fashionable Red Hot Chili Peppers-style white "funk" with "rapping".

Following the release of "Abuse", Tom replaced the Valverde brothers with local Los Angeles fixture Anu Kirk (guitar, vocals) and John Montgomery (better known as the drummer for local faves Bottom 12).

With Kirk now collaborating on the songwriting, the band's sound quickly veered back towards the "-punk" side of the equation, resulting in the sloppy, "direct-to-cassette" mess of "One Last Page".

1999's "Dropping Some Downers" was a surprisingly polished, radio-friendly finale for the band.

Another BuG is a mashup artist.

And yet another bug is a band hailing from St. Louis Missouri.
"Bug(the loudest band in st. louis recorded at penny studios in st louis mo. 100% analog on 1" reel. sounds fantastic like a blast from the past shadowy figure(land of the awful shadow) recently went double alluminum (200 sold))
likes to rock and roll and marijuana."
[UPDATE]
The St. Louis based bug is currently on sabbatical, pursuing other musical interests and incarnations.
They should not be left out of your conscience as they shall return to give you brain aneurisms.

There's also a noise-rock/sludge/hardcore-band called bug from Innsbruck, Austria.
They've released a bunch of records and split records with turn out, sensual love, and, most recently, 27 (Interstellar Records / noise appeal). See www.workstation.or.at/bug/.
