Mitchell Trimmer Band Biography

Mitchell Trimmer was born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma. Mitchell has been instilled with a deep love for music from an early age. Whether it be singing classic country songs along with his father in the car or watching his mother lead the worship songs at church. Mitchell has no lack of influences to credit for where he is today. Mike Trimmer, Mitchell’s father, was a singer/songwriter for the regionally successful country band Rough Cut in the 1980’s and 90’s. Mike played numerous talent shows, songwriting competitions and music festivals before eventually signing to Charlie Pride’s record label in Nashville, TN. However, shortly thereafter he left Nashville. Deciding the best thing for Mitchell and his two siblings was to come home to raise them. Mitchell’s love for music grew as the years progressed. Hearing stories of his father’s work and watching old VHS tapes of him playing ignited the desire to become an accomplished singer/songwriter himself. Throughout high school and college, Mitchell played in numerous garage bands that would eventually break up. In the early 2010’s, he and some friends formed the locally successful band Ruff Cutt. The band would go on to open for many popular names at substantial venues in the Texas/Red Dirt music scene. Although, to his dismay, the vicious cycle continued with Ruff Cutt disbanding only a couple short years later. Only reaching his short term goals and never fully experiencing his dream of becoming successful in the music industry. Mitchell, being the prolific songwriter that he is, never ceased writing songs. In 2016 he picked up the pieces and started the Mitchell Trimmer Band. This new and exciting entity with his namesake seemed only logical considering the track record of defunct endeavors in the past. Mitchell helped get his music out to fans in January 2018 by releasing a previously recorded five song EP titled “The LEPA Tapes.” This EP included local fan favorites such as “Long Way to Tulsa,” “I Got You” and “East Jesse Night.” Mitchell has been on the road booking shows and recording his first full-length studio album “Roots Run Deep.”
