Guitarist-composer, Ben Garnett, is an emerging voice in the American acoustic music scene and considered one of the highly regarded young instrumentalists of his generation. Having strong roots in the bluegrass and jazz communities, his music melds these traditions and more, with craft and honesty, into one cathartic, singular sound. Having toured extensively with Grammy®-nominated bassist Missy Raines as well as progressive bluegrass band Circus No. 9, Garnett has performed all over North America, and in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In 2022, he produced and played on Circus No. 9's sophomore full-length album ("Circus No. 9," self-titled, 2022).


With his debut record "Imitation Fields," Garnett makes a distinct and vibrant entry as a solo artist. Blending the traditions of string band, jazz, electronica, classical, and avant-garde music, he forges a sonic tapestry all his own.

Produced by Chris Eldridge (Punch Brothers/Julian Lage & Chris Eldridge) and featuring fiddlers Brittany Haas (Hawktail) and Billy Contreras, bassist Paul Kowert (Punch Brothers/Hawktail), banjoist Matthew Davis, and mandolinist Dominick Leslie (as well as a string quintet and additional guitar by Eldridge), "Imitation Fields" unites some of the acoustic scene’s most exciting and inventive players in service of a new musical vision.
