Sobre Time Spent Driving

Time Spent Driving
Formed in 1998 in the SF Bay Area, Time Spent Driving's brand of emotive indie-rock helped to define what many today might call "real" emo’s most pivotal years.
After an initial 3-song demo in 1999, they released their 6-song debut EP, "Walls Between Us" (2000), followed by their phenomenal full-length "Just Enough Bright" in 2002. Releasing music across labels like Sessions, Doghouse, Deep Elm, Rise, and Cardigan, the band gained a loyal international following by touring the US and Europe relentlessly. They also found significant exposure through iconic early-2000s Xbox video game soundtracks, including “Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding” and “Transworld Surf.”
Following an untimely hiatus in 2003, the band briefly reconvened in 2005 to record what became "I'm Your Stab in the Back"—a collection of seven new songs plus bonus tracks released in 2007. Reforming with their original members in 2012, they returned to the stage and released the acclaimed full-length album "Passed and Presence" in 2015.
In November 2023, they released their next LP, “ESTRANGERS,” via Negative Progression Records. Expansive, moody, and dynamic, the record is a varied journey through the dark corners of the human condition and stands as some of the band’s most honest and powerful work yet. With a brutally honest approach, “ESTRANGERS” manages to deliver some of the best hallmarks of the genre to satiate their loyal fanbase and engage new listeners, supplemented by official videos for “Intents and Purposes” and “Trust No One.”
Currently, Time Spent Driving has partnered with Thirty Something Records to release the highly anticipated 25th-anniversary vinyl reissue of "Just Enough Bright." Fully remixed by original producer J. Robbins, the reissue features the newly finished, previously unreleased bonus track "What It Should Be Like." Armed with a revitalized 5-piece lineup featuring Jon Cattivera (Guitar/Vocals), Derek Pabich (Guitar), Bill Schneider (Bass), Garrett Smart (Drums), and David Cattivera (Keyboards), the band is actively booking shows and preparing for the release of a brand new full-length album later this year.
