This show was amazing. I liked MUNA, but I walked out of there LOVING MUNA. I didn’t realize when I went in that they were going to rock my face off. They do a REALLY good live show. There are some moments from this show that I think are seared into my brain forever. So, I liked MUNA when I heard them, but I was in a long phase of not listening to music. Around the time I saw Anaïs Michelle at the Hollywood Forever Masonic Lodge, my sister also invited me to this show specifically because Jensen McRae was opening, who she had been following for years and been trying to see since before COVID times. After Anaïs, I made an effort to start listening to music again, and I put MUNA on rotation to get to know the songs and prepare for this show. I wasn’t prepared for my life to like, totally change? VENUE: The location for this venue is killer (street parking, walkable, so many local food options) and I think the interior is also great, except that this venue has some major drawbacks. Firstly, their rules about what can and can’t come in are not well-publicized- they weren’t in the venue info with the tickets (I returned to my car 2 separate times while my sister was in the security line, to put away my stainless water bottle, and our purses that were barely too large, and still didn’t learn until the checkpoint they also don’t permit birdie alarms inside. Oh well, I know for next time). Worse than that, this venue is hotter than the 7th circle of hell in warm weather. So Cal in August is WARM, but it’s San Diego, not Riverside! It was evening time, cooling off outside very pleasantly by the time we got in, but stifling inside. It only got worse as it filled up, and we like many others, wore masks indoors due to the close quarters. Waiting for both Jensen and MUNA, I was getting concerned for peoples’ safety. (I work in a very high heat environment, so while very unhappy, I knew I could handle it, but I was definitely concerned for my sister). We decided not to drink, even though we had planned on it. I’m talking standing totally motionless, fanning yourself and still having sweat running down your back and both legs, because it’s like 90 degrees indoors. There’s a small amount of cool airflow in a ton of little bitty dot grates on the floor. That’s innovative, but it wasn’t enough. I don’t expect huge old buildings to have great AC, but they need to be ventilated better, to try to be able match the indoor temperature to the outdoor one, (especially with constant outbreaks of airborne viruses like COVID and measles). There’s a missed opportunity in this venue to have side doors open to get a cross breeze, and to have big vent fans behind their beautiful latticed ceiling grates that pull the warm air out through the roof and allow the cool air from the side doors or floor vents in. It was INSANE how hot it was in there, and I think this venue is very lucky any summer night that they don’t have patrons getting sick or injured with serious heat illnesses. I would see another show at the Observatory because I love San Diego and North Park, but ONLY in cooler weather seasons.

It was late October and luckily not very hot in LA. Pink Slip was awesome and I’d love to see them again.

Venue has plenty of viewing spots, but the sound somehow drowned out Katie's voice a bit at times and the lighting was blinding at various points. The band did their thing well and efficiently while balancing audience engagement still, but I think I preferred seeing them at a smaller venue. 3 staceys was certainly an upgrade though!

Not bad but they mostly just played their music exactly how it sounds on the record. Not much new instrumentation or anything, just like a literal live version of their studio music. Was expecting more. Still enjoyed it though!

Lovely show, had the best time! The setlist was amazing, and the performance was outstanding, just the absolute best vibes ever. Hope to go to another MUNA show someday.

THEY ARE SO AMAZING LIVE! If you have a chance to go to a Muna concert, you should go! The energy is high and it literally sounds like you’re listening to the album!

They put their full energy into it and the dance moves, light effects, and amount of rapport with the crowd was just right but shortest show I've ever been to for a headlining act?? Whole thing only lasted 2.5 hrs and that was with a 30+ min opener and not starting til 9pm and ending before 10:30pm. Encore was a bit odd in that they just walked off stage without addressing the crowd so I couldn't tell it was even "end of show". But the intention to create a safe space for their LGBTQ+ community was thoroughly driven home.

Such a great show! MUNA are very infectious performers and make you feel like you are having fun on the stage with them!

MUNA is a phenomenally moving band. With lyrics that speak to the complexity of love and desire, and the longing for acceptance and self-fulfillment , MUNA raises our spirit and moves our soul. The band is tight and just plain fun to watch and listen to!

What a show! The crowd had a great energy, the opening act, Meet Me at the Alter, was a ton of fun and MUNA was just brilliant!

i had never seen muna live and let me just saw they are AMAZING! i had so much fun even tho i didn't know all the songs. they really put on such a great show! the opening band was also really good!

This show was truly amazing and energetic. They played songs from all of their albums and the encore was amazing. They connect with the audience and fill the air with joy.

Greatest band in the world. They give their all at every show. Their set list is thoughtful and their banter is fun. Their music sounds even better live. A true must-see.

Was one of the best shows I have been to. They played deep cuts as well as newer songs.

Such an incredible show! The energy in the crowd was electric and the trio gave it their all. One of the best shows I’ve seen!

MUNA was amazing live! So much energy in their songs and joy to be there with us. The venue was packed and sweaty but the employees were handing out bottles of water and making sure everyone was doing okay during the performances.

I liked About U. I fucked with Saves The World heavily this year, but their live show blew all my expectations out of the water. I never really heard people talking about a MUNA show but let me just say, if you get a chance to see them live, DO IT.
