Adi Rao

Adi Rao is an Austin-based singer-songwriter, composer, and classically trained vocalist celebrated for bridging cultures through sound. His music blends the raw soul of Country storytelling with the intricate emotional depth of South Indian classical music, creating a sound that’s both fresh and timeless.

Adi’s innovative approach has earned international recognition, including a Grammy nomination consideration for his single “SND” under Best Global Music Performance and a Best Male Singer nomination at the IIFA Awards 2023. He has sung for the Indian Prime Minister, the President of the United States, and a stadium of 50,000, and his vocal contributions span Indian and Hollywood soundtracks alongside icons like A.R. Rahman and R. Madhavan, as well as live collaborations with Billie Eilish, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Camila Cabello, and Carlos Santana.

His deep, versatile timbre—often compared to Chris Stapleton, John Legend, and Seal—anchors his genre- bending projects like “Countryish”, where steel guitars meet raga-inspired melodies and southern grit collides with Indian soul.

Beyond his solo work, Aditya explores new sonic worlds through film scoring, production, and experimental collaborations. In his words, it’s not about fitting in; it’s about creating a new space entirely.
