Four Brazilian guys and one dream: create a sound that is fresh and relevant. Andre Ache (Vocals and Bass), Gabriel Gottardo (Guitars and Synths), Meinel Waldow (Guitars) and Gui Schwertner (Drums) have been friends from high school, but together as Fire Department Club since 2011. From the release of their first EP, Colourise, in 2011, Fire Department Club was embraced by the public. The album has traveled a long way to Los Angeles to grab the attention of Music Producer Luc Silveira. And together, along with Soma Studios the partnership evolved, taking the band on a new direction. In 2013, FDC’s singles, “Merry-Go-Round” and “Love Reconnected”, were released in over 130 countries and met with great enthusiasm by fans. Inspired by Disney’s Fantasia (1940), the video for “Love Reconnected” was directed by the awarded Brazilian filmmaker André Wofchuk, generating wonderful reviews from critics throughout the globe, earning the band a spot in the Top21 best new bands in Brazil. FDC performed an acoustic set, recorded live in São Paulo, for the selective “Club NME Sounds” alongside only a few of the new generation in Brazilian Rock. The New York City based website, www.One41.tv, went further and described the band as “Brazil’s hidden jewel…” Best Intuition, released in 2015, showcases FDC's duality at its best, with spot on variations of moods and tempos. It’s indie, it’s rock and it’s modern disco. "Pitfall”, the album’s first single, illustrates just how unique their sound can be. Its Lyric Video shows the band on a journey through the streets of their hometown in a 16-bit throwback visual, paying homage to the late 80’s video game with same name. The album started to get a much deserved exposure around the world, and FDC had a chance to open for The Kooks and Kasabian at Lollapalooza Brazil’s sideshows, earning high praises from Luke Pritchard from The Kooks. The buzz generated was once again beyond expectations, enough for the band to sign a record deal with Sonovibe Records from Los Angeles, CA. To celebrate the band’s first North American Tour, Sonovibe released a Special Edition of the Best Intuition EP with two Bonus Tracks in US & Canada. The US tour featured performances at CMJ 2015, in New York City, as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA. In the beginning of 2016, Fire Department Club went back to North America. This time, the band was part of the Canadian Music Week in Toronto, and did not disappoint: the crowd would not stop dancing! That’s FDC.
