Amazing Iestyn Davies was in great voice tonight and the Lute was played with great delicacy and precision: breathtaking overall and gripping. Simply loved the aria from Saul at the end. It’ll mean another visit to see it for the fourth time next summer at Glyndebourne. Ideas for a second encore might have been “I know a bank ..” sung by Oberon in Midsummer Night’s Dream from his stunning Garsington performance this summer but you can’t have everything! Keep up the good work - been following your career for many years.
