Sobre Robin Trower

Robin Trower
Robin Trower (born Robin Leonard Trower, 9 March 1945, Catford, South East London, England) is an English rock guitarist who achieved success with Procol Harum during the 1960s, and then again as the bandleader of his own power trio.
Biography
Trower grew up in the seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea, Essex. In 1962, Trower formed a group that became The Paramounts, later including fellow Southend High School pupil Gary Brooker. The Paramounts disbanded in 1966 to pursue individual projects. During this time, Trower created a local three-piece band called 'The Jam' - not to be confused with the later group with Paul Weller. Trower then joined Brooker's new band Procol Harum in 1967, with whom he remained until 1972.
Before launching his own eponymous band, he joined singer Frankie Miller, bass player James Dewar, and former Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker to form the short-lived combo Jude. This outfit did not record and soon split up.
Trower retained as his bassist Dewar, who took on lead vocals as well, and recruited drummer Reg Isidore (later replaced by Bill Lordan) to form the Robin Trower Band in 1973.

WOW, it was fantastic show!!! This man is one of a handful of truly phenomenal guitarists in rock and blues history. Not only a master of technical precision but is gifted with the ability to create beautiful, spine-tingling phrasing straight from his soul. It is a rare combination in the music industry. There have been many great technicians, and many soulful players, but few with a true combination of both. Robin truly deserves to be in the Rock N Roll hall of fame ASAP.

Arrived early enough for my son and I to stand right in front of the stage. It was an amazing show! Daydream at 10:16 minutes was the absolute highlight. The 90 minute set included many of his staples, along with some BLT songs, and a couple new songs. Great show!
Excellent band!

My wife and I saw Robin Trower on Thursday, 7/17/25 @ the Gillioz Theatre in Springfield, MO. This was our third time buying tickets to see him. Unfortunately, the first two shows were cancelled. The first due to Covid and the second due to his health issue. Well let me tell you, it was worth the wait. At 80 years young, Robin looked great and was absolutely shredding his guitar. He played with a lot of energy, passion and emotion. He rocked the house for at least an hour and a half which included his set list and an encore. Hopefully he’ll make it back our way again soon so we can go see him. I’d like to add the Gillioz is a great place to see a concert. Very intimate with a long history and great acoustics.
