Gene Loves Jezebel

As usual, they sounded amazing and I employ you to do whatever it takes to attend their shows they were meant to be heard live! I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with the band and hanging out with him after the show and talking about being a dad and family and enjoying your career and all kinds of things just amazing people. I sure hope I get an opportunity to see them live again and hang out with them again they are just truly good people and of course one of my all-time favorite band but this show was absolutely beyond great they are talented and they enjoy what they are doing and it shows keep rocking!

The show was great! They sound as great as they did 40 years ago. I've seen them at least 15 time over the years and they are still Amazing live!!

I loved it!! I’ve seen them before but with both brothers there.

As always…Hot!!

They were the best group of the 4 by miles. They should have been the headliner!

Great show, I have seen them once before in Chicago some time ago. Michael and Jay Aston were singing. I believe it's Jay now, but still the songs played sounds great live.

They were the opening act. Should have been the main act. Very short set. So much more material could’ve been played. I hope GLJ does more shows.

This was a stop on the Totally 80's tour and they appeared with three other bands: Bow Wow Wow, Tommy Tutone, and Big Country. I'm mystified why Gene Loves Jezebelle were only second on the bill, because they were by far the highlight of the night. While openers Bow Wow Wow were sorely missing original lead singer Anabella Lwin and came across as a so-so cover band, GLJ was amazing, despite likewise missing a key original member, brother Jay Aston. Michael was there, though, and sounded and looked amazing, and every song they played looked, felt, and sounded as good or better than it had in their heyday. In fact, they were so good that a big chunk of the crowd actually left not long after their set, partly because the third band, Tommy Tutone was totally out of place, playing his one actual hit (867-5309 Jenny), a bunch of songs no one's ever heard of, and some genuinely weird covers of 70's soft rock songs by Jim Croce and Cat Stevens. He wasn't terrible, just terribly out of place following a grungy, gothy band like GLJ, and he should probably have been the opener. Headliner Big Country was pretty good, although again, be aware that it's really just the original guitarist and some other guys. He's a pretty amazing guitarist, though, and they did to put in a solid set, finishing up with their two big hits (Fields of Fire and In a Big Country). Thank god for Gene Loves Jezebelle, though - they really put on a great show and it was worth the price just to see them!

Awesome. They were with Modern English and The Alarm. One of the best concerts I’ve seen in years. Please come again. I have been both years at the Masquerade. Great place to see a show. General admission and you can get right up front.

Just as quirky and amazing as ever 🤘🏻😎❤️
