Sobre J-Felix
“So damn good...This guy’s got it going on!” - HUEY MORGAN (BBC 6MUSIC)
“Excellent... So many reasons to listen to J-Felix’ music” – FIP (RADIO FRANCE)
“A sublime journey through squelchy electro-funk, tripped-out neo soul and woozy hip-hop beats” – 8/10 – NME
Producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, J-Felix seems to embrace the entire universe of funk - from B-Boy hip-hop to neo-soul, vintage R&B to nu-skool vibes - CLASH MAGAZINE
Bristol born Producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ, J-Felix cut his teeth in an eclectic range of bands and musical projects including playing guitars for Alice Russell and more recently, Wrongtom and The Ragga Twins as well as working with Ibibio Sound Machine.
After releasing his debut P-Funk, soul and Boogie laced album on Tru Thoughts in June 2015, J-Felix received massive support from NME – 8/10, BBC6 radio, Don Letts, Huey Morgan, Nemone Texas and Mary Anne Hobbs as well as Apple Music. Remixes for label mates, Werkha and the Hot 8 brass band also soon followed as well as production for UK soulstress, Harleighblu. His follow up 2016 release, ‘The Runaway’ EP also received a lot of love from BBC6 music and club DJ’s.
With his full live band, J-Felix has since supported sold out shows with the likes of Roy Ayers, Chinese Man, George Clinton (Parliament – Funkadelic), Soul ll Soul and The Hot 8 Brass band. With collaborators Abi Flynn and Sophie Paul joining him on vocals along with a tough rhythm section and Brighton jazz trumpeter, Jack Kendon, J-Felix and the band interpret his music with a lively jazz/funk twist. J-Felix is also an in demand DJ having played Glastonbury, Love Supreme, Soundwave festivals to name a few and opened for Gilles Peterson at Patterns where he holds A DJ residency.
