Sobre Aaron Douglas Music
Aaron Douglas first picked up a guitar at 16 years old. He became hooked and within a week he’d harrassed his parents into purchasing him his first guitar, then without really knowing how to play it, he wrote his first song. From that moment onward, music became a very important constant in Aaron’s life.
He soon became well known as a multi-instrumentalist in the Plymouth music scene, having moved from Portsmouth to Plymouth (for university), and found himself playing in bands that were sharing stages with Frank Turner, Reef, KT Tunstall, Seth Lakeman, Akil MC (Jurassic 5), BabyHead, Imperial Leisure, Martin Harley, and the Dub Pistols.
In the summer of 2010, Aaron took on bass duties for singer-songwriter/filmmaker, Cosmo Jarvis, and eventually moved onto guitar. With this came more high profile situations i.e. Secret Garden party, Isle of Wight Festival, Parades de Coura in Portugal, and the Great Escape amongst many others. During this time he continued to write and in October 2011 began playing solo earning supports with Plan B, James Bay, Jack Garratt, Ben Ottewell (Gomez), Scott Matthews, Ryan Keen, Ruarri Joseph, Brother & Bones and many more.
Aaron’s approach to songwriting is all about honesty. “If you don’t believe in what you’re singing about, who else will?”. Consequently, he has songs about impatient people at airports, passing on bad habits to your kids, friends, PMA, and the glorious power of hindsight.
His honest and passionate song writing is coupled with a live performance that blends elements of different genres, story telling, and use of technology to create a sound that is more than just “a guy with a guitar”.
