Sobre More Hazards More Heroes

More Hazards More Heroes is an indie folk duo performing since 2010 out of Nasville, TN, originally. Their music consists of tasteful, corky and fresh, soulful, southern folk blues numbers. The band consists of Drew Lorimer, Jr. (Drool Jr/aka Jocka LowRhymer) and Brent Shaffer (DJ Flowers), who met at Belmont University - home of the Bruins - in 2005. Shaffer studied music theory and composition with his guitar as the medium for strictly tasteful stylings paying homage to the classical music he was grounded in during his teen years. He was lead guitar and co-founder of the short-lived ska band Hundred Regiments, and, in addition, he composed solo guitar instrumentals, cinematic string music and singer-songwriter pieces. Lorimer, Jr taught himself guitar at the age of 18. studied the entertainment business in pursuance of a specialty in entertainment law; he took on the stage name Jocka LowRhymer under which he wrote and performed original rap music, even times on tracks composed by DJ Flowers and other local artists on and off for 6 years in the greater Nashville area. Shaffer entertained the idea of co-writing with Lorimer after hearing Lorimer's acoustic projects Spotlight on John and Elevator Etiquette. Friend and fellow musician, Josh Muckala (Fool, The Afters, The Daylights, The Chainsmokers), took the two under his wing and produced the 2011, debut album, "Dyin' Ain't for Death." Shortly after the 2013 release of their 2nd album, Cabin Fever, the group took a 3-year hiatus from band activities and, after relocating to San Francisco, began performing again in 2017. 2010 - Dyin Ain't for Death 2013 - Cabin Fever 2013-2016 hiatus 2018 - digital EP release (in post-production)
