frances mistry

There’s a quiet power in frances mistry’s music - the kind that draws you in gently, then stays with you. The Brighton-based indie-pop and folk artist writes with unflinching honesty about identity and connection, steadily establishing herself as one of the UK’s most captivating new voices. A skilled guitarist and storyteller, she threads tender sonics with vulnerable lyricism, shaping a sound that's wholly her own.
Her latest EP, ‘conversations with those i love’ (released May 2025), marked a defining moment in her blossoming career - a deeply personal project that earned placements on Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE, New Pop UK, Our Generation, and A Perfect Day. In support of its release, frances was named one of Spotify’s Fresh Finds of the Month for May, a milestone that solidified her growing presence within the UK indie scene.
A natural live performer, frances has become a fixture of Brighton’s vibrant music scene, headlining and supporting at venues like Concorde2, The Folklore Rooms, Green Door Store, and The Hope & Ruin. Her live set, intimate yet quietly commanding, has taken her beyond Brighton, with regular London shows and regional dates across the country. This past November, she joined The Army, The Navy on select dates of their UK tour (Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool), continuing to expand her reach to new audiences.
Already backed by BBC Introducing and praised by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders as a “proper, authentic artist,” frances has played the BBC Introducing Stage at The Great Escape Festival and appeared at Beach House Sessions Festival. Her trajectory has also seen her open for artists including Paris Paloma, Of Monsters and Men, and Alfie Templeman.
“No wonder Frances Mistry is being spotlighted by Spotify and The Great Escape in 2025 - it’s been a long time coming as her dreamy yet dark tones enchant us further into her artist world. conversations with those i love is a stunning EP, with a magical undercurrent of truth and force - coherent and continuing to excite those who listen.” - Jodie Bryant, BBC Radio 1
Now signed with Trust Artists, frances is set for an even bigger year ahead, with her fourth EP arriving in 2026. Soft but sure, she’s finding her own rhythm, guided by emotional honesty, grounded storytelling, and a calm conviction that lets her voice stand apart.
