kenny was fine, though the robust drumming and guitar back up too often drowned out Kenny;s vocals and his fine skills with the piano. The show got progressively better as we were almost ready to leave during the tedious, vulgarly loud and oppressive introit. I t did not resemble anything "Elton" that I could remember and seemed to go on like a heavy traffic pattern of large trucks. Equally unpleasant was the choreography and expressive gyrations of the lead quitar, whose wig was comical at first but devolved into hideous and weird. Why dress these guys in such cheap attire? Again, what was "Elton" in that? More sadly this detracted from the great skills of these men as it was hard to focus on the music. Sitting in row 3, my partner and I mentioned on several occasions that we needed blinders almost as much as ear plugs. And, as mentioned earlier, Kenny was drowned out by the 2nd and 3rd mates on several numbers.
The last 30 minutes though were terrific. We'd grown accustomed to the oddball outfits and the crowd was well warmed up . "Saturday" really rocked, and we left feeling over all pretty good about the night. NIce job , Kenny, and you others too, just remember who is the lead, and ditch the frikking wigs!!!!
