Sobre Stephen Street
Stephen Street is a versatile London-based Bassist who studied his Undergraduate and Masters at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Derek Butler Scholar. In 2015 Stephen graduated with a BMus (Hons) (TL Scholar) and was awarded a silver medal for his achievements and contribution to the college.
Stephen has been played a very active role in the college, gaining places on both jazz and classical courses. He was honoured to play principal position in all the Conservatoire’s classical ensembles.
He undertook his classical studies with Chris West and Leon Bosch. Additionally he participated in masterclasses led by Alberto Bocini, Mathew McDonald and Dan Styffe.
Martin Speake and Simon Purcell guided his Jazz studies. Within the jazz department he performed in combos and composed his own pieces. Stephen performs regularly with the Oliver’s Sunday Jazz quartet and most notably with Stefan Melovski at the Ronnie Scott’s late show.
He complemented his studies by performing for Burberry (Alison Moyet and Rhodes), musicals (Mary Poppins), Professor Green, Phoria (Abbey Road Studios) and playing for the Op Sa! Balkan band.
The next step in his musical career is to continue expanding his freelance career and record his original compositions. He always welcomes new challenges and takes pride in being an important contributor to any ensemble he joins.
