The Erly

Niles, Michigan band, The Erly, was formed in late 2017 by vocalist/bassist Collin Mattiford and vocalist/drummer Fran Gleason. Trevor McDonald joined soon after on guitar and vocals when a last minute “musician wanted” ad turned into a Craigslist success story. Throughout the years, The Erly have released albums Shadows (2018), Reckless (2021), and Culture Fever (2023), having success on the local and regional scale, with songs such as Flame The Main, Red Roof Inn, Hey Amanda, and Jasmine. It wasn’t until their album Salem Lights (2024) when they added Simon Kauffman Hurst on keyboards, that the band began to attract national attention with live show anthem “55 On The Other Side.”

With multiple national tours, weekend runs, and festivals under their belt, The Erly have cemented themselves as a must-see live band, reaching heights of intricate jazz rock and funk jams. Night to night, the shows differ, giving opportunities for members to sing lead or showcase their personalities and abilities. Pulling from folk/Americana roots of layered vocal harmonies, The Erly puts it all together into a package that honors the classic music we all love, but keeps us excited to find more.
