David Diaz

David Diaz makes nostalgically dreamy ’80s-inspired synth-pop shaped by soulful vocals, introspective lyrics, lush harmonies, and a warm, down-to-earth boy-next-door sensibility. The New York-born, Orlando-based singer, songwriter, and musician creates songs that carry the emotional glow of a coming-of-age film, pairing familiar '80s textures with honest reflections on heartbreak, growth, identity, and the human condition. Rather than simply recreating the era, David brings its sounds and everyday imagery to life in a way that feels personal, timeless, and unmistakably his.

Philosophy is a creative wellspring for David and played a key role in his decision to pursue music. Exploring existential concepts like individuality and free will shaped his approach, while songwriting became a way to process the past, revisit painful moments, and turn personal reflection and pain into learning experiences and growth that others can connect with.
David brings a soulful, R&B touch to his music. His warm, grounded vocals move between a smooth chest voice and a clear, airy falsetto, supported by lush layered harmonies. David is just as involved behind the scenes, handling his own songwriting, recording, vocal production, arranging, mixing, and mastering. His records have surpassed three million streams and earned a 2023 Wavy Award for Production of the Year.

David isn't interested in making noise just to be seen. He values intention and connection over visibility, popularity, or status, taking the time to give every song, visual, and story the form that feels right. He's the thoughtful philosopher and sad boy-next-door who makes the kind of music that people want to stick around for.
