AJ Johnston is an Alt-Country singer/songwriter out of Amarillo, TX. in addition to having been a combat- deployed Army Paratrooper, with an above knee amputation lost while serving.

His injury and experience's lead to a thirst for life, and a high energy performance. Having opened for some of the biggest names in the Country and Texas Country/Red Dirt scene (Casey Donahew, Kevin Fowler, Joe Nichols, Travis Tritt, Charlie Robison, Zane Williams, etc...), and playing some amazing, top venues, it's safe to say that AJ is on his way to showcasing his second life as a stage performer.

AJ's songwriting is influenced by heartbreak, people's stories, and personal experiences. Songs like "Aged Rodeo", stemmed from real life experiences as a former bull rider; and "Flag Draped Box" is influenced from his experiences in Afghanistan, and the men he served with.
