High Wasted Genes

High Wasted Genes are a Connecticut pop-punk band combining punchy hooks, emo-leaning lyrics, and the raw energy of DIY basement shows. Influenced by bands like The Wonder Years, Knuckle Puck, and The Story So Far, the band blends the melodic punch of early-2000s pop-punk with the emotional edge of modern emo revival.

Their recent singles “Al Bundy (and a Semester of Fraud)” and “Asshole” have begun gaining traction on Spotify, generating thousands of streams while appearing on independent playlists and Spotify radio. The band’s growing online audience spans the United States, Canada, and South America, with listeners discovering their music through a mix of playlist support, algorithmic recommendations, and social media clips from basement practice sessions.

With more releases planned and momentum building from their early singles, High Wasted Genes are continuing to expand their audience while staying rooted in the DIY spirit that shaped their sound.
