Second Coming can refer to two different bands: The precursor to The Allman Brothers Band, which included Forrest Richard "Dickey" Betts and Raymond Berry Oakley III, or the modern band of the same name.

With a resume that speaks volumes, Second Coming is a band that is just around the corner from world-wide success. They're a band that has been through the music industry grinder and come through with a new-found sense of fortitude and strength. They are accomplished musicians, performers, and songwriters with a vision that is true expression of the experiences they have been through. Most important Second Coming is about one thing, the music, and what they create cannot be described by mere words alone, but must be experienced first hand.
Possessing the sweeping grandeur of the name Second Coming, there is no doubt that there had better be some serious music of substance to justify the moniker. One listen, to the new songs on the current self-produced project '13', showcases why they have a base of over 100,000 avid fans always hungry for more material and new releases.
Now for a little history of the band that has the Pacific Northwest and soon the entire music world buzzing again. Second Coming's roots trace back to the childhood alliance of bassist Johnny Bacolas and drummer James Bergstrom. The duo played in various bands around their hometown of Seattle and in the 90's ended up forming the nucleus of Second Coming. The essence of the Second Coming sound was fully realized with the addition of vocalist Travis Bracht. Then Second Coming worked the club scene around Seattle furiously forging their own distinctive sound and style.
Ready for the studio, the band enlisted producer Kelly Gray, known for his work with artists such as Candlebox and Brother Cane, and their efforts were rewarded with a self-financed, eight-song recording by the end of '97. It was those eight songs that led to a frenetic bidding war between such high-profile labels as Columbia, Capitol and Elektra. Gary Gersh, Capitol Records President at the time, personally signed the band in March of '98 and by mid-summer they had a Top 10 radio track with the first single "Soft."
Unfortunately, Gersh left the company shortly thereafter. Even with little label support, Second Comings' debut went on to 'scan over 75,000 units from radio play in over 150 markets in the U.S., word of mouth, and the strength of their live shows. Having their music blaring at the commercial segways of the MTV music awards and appearing in the Bruce Willis film "The 6th Sense" just added more fuel to the fire (middle of the movie during the B-day Party, listen for "The Unknown Rider"—see film credits).
In 2001, believing it was time for a change, the band negotiated the rights to their first album and removed themselves from the confusion at Capitol. With the addition of guitarist Eric Snyder, who brought a new found power to Second Coming's invincible sound, the band was once again destined for success. In 2003 Second Coming released '13' (once again produced by Kelly Gray) on their own label Timestyle Music and distributed the recording through their own website and Amazon.com. One track in particular created an industry buzz with the calling out of Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst. On the track, "Drop Dead Fred" vocalist Travis Bracht showcased his personal penchant for Ultimate Fighting (and disdain for Durst) belting out the lines "when I call you out…into the octagon your tappin' out." Bracht doesn’t just talk the talk though; he’s been training & fighting regularly on his off time from the band. This led to Second Coming being the featured band on the fighting DVD 'Bad Breed' released in 2002 & 2003 which is distributed in Blockbuster’s, Hollywood Video and other major chains currently throughout the nation.
As of 2005, Second Coming is currently selling out shows all over the Pacific Northwest, recording new songs for an upcoming release and is regularly featured on local rock stations KISW and KFNK. We’re taking our time on it, we want to make sure it encompasses everything we want on it, the visions we all have for it. We've taking things to the next level. It’s an interesting thing how Second Coming is bigger now than they've ever been and they haven't been snatched up by a major label. With the new tracks currently being created, however, it’s just a matter of time before that situation is rectified.
