It’s been a while since der tante renate rose to popularity in the electro/indie culture both in Germany and abroad. If you think electro and independent music don’t go together, think again.

Check out one of his shows and you’ll experience firsthand how these styles can be easily combined to form a highly energetic hybrid. He takes the best of both influences and arranges them into blistering songs with bass lines you’ll find difficult to forget.

With very few vocals, his music is flexible - making it suitable for dance floors of all sizes. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that der tante renate’s music appeals to a broad spectrum of music fans.

Having played at a number of major festivals in 2006, (Fusion, Juicy Beats, Kontrollverluste Festival, Eurosonic …) he’s bound to have added to his ever growing
number of admirers. During his live shows, the engineer of media technology sticks predominately with soft and hardware synthesisers. However, sometimes his electric guitar accompanies him on stage and when it does he drives himself (and the crowd) in to quite a frenzy.

Der tante renate’s songs are released by Audiolith recordings (Hamburg) and are distributed by Broken Silence. Publishing is handled by Community Publishing. Booking in the Netherlands is handled by Alles Los Agency. Production for the next full length album has already begun and will be released in the first quarter on 2007. Der tante renate will tour Germany with ClickClickDecker in October before playing some additional shows in the Netherlands.
