Sobre Clayton Gardner
If you just discovered Clayton Gardner, you’ve come at a good time because his newest album “Under the Lights” is his best so far. A singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas, Clayton Gardner is poised for the height of his career with two Top 20 albums on his record and a fresh country sound that is true to his roots, and yet rivals the best of today’s hit country.
You would think he's done this forever, but it wasn't until a dorm room at Texas A&M when he picked up a guitar and found his gift. Early on Clayton had the opportunity to co-write and perform with chart toppers like Pat Green, Jack Ingram, Josh Abbott, Kevin Fowler, Aaron Watson, Wade Bowen, Cody Johnson, and Casey Donahew. Thanks to these collaborations and challenges from his peers, he’s certainly come a long way quickly. Clayton credits the greats Keith Whitley and George Strait as his inspiration, but it’s his own drive and talent that has brought him this far.
Clayton’s most recent release “Under the Lights,” produced by Aaron Eshuis, is already his highest selling album to date, with the hit “Buy You a Drink” in the Top 10 on Texas radio. The album debuted with single "Don't Miss It," which catalogs life moments and a reminder that you've only got one shot, don't miss it.
With “Under the Lights,” Clayton’s musical style and experience continues to grow. Evidenced in the masterful arrangements and his heart on the line with hopeful lyrics like “What If We Fall,” he delivers a more full, progressive, yet ‘still Clayton’ sound that postures his career for a new level.
His sophomore album “LUCKY 7” (2013), produced by Grammy-nominated Mack Damon, charted in iTunes Top 20 country albums, with two singles (“Something About You” and “Table for Two”) also hitting Top 20. He also earned two Top 20 spots on iTunes with “Settle Down” and “Happy Ending” from his “Here to Stay” EP. LUCKY 7’s “Table for Two” has since become a wedding favorite as it now stands in the ranks of Texas Music Charts Top 100 Songs (#45) of 2014.
