MATREKIS was developed in October of 2009. The group formed with the goal of reviving and preserving the sound of roots metal. With influences ranging from the likes of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Iron Maiden and Megadeth, Matrekis infuses power, drive and passion into every song. This produces an old-school metal sound that blends commanding vocals, heavy power chords, ripping guitar solos, thundering bass lines, and hammering drums into a unique variety of songs that leave you wanting more. Matrekis has shared the stage with national touring artists such as Texas Hippie Coalition, Emperors and Elephants, King Shifter, Screaming For Silence, ASKA, Wayland, A.D.D., Faster Pussycat, Broken Teeth, Lizzy Borden, Digital Summer, LYNCH MOB, Ignitor, Cage and more! Matrekis has performed in a variety of venues throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
