We are not going to bore you with a long biografy, so this was the case...
OBSCURE was one of the first Death Metal bands formed at around the years 88/89. The band’s core draws from the germ of a previous band, in wich Enri Sanchis (Drums) Voris Ortiz (Guitar) and Rafa Cortés (Guitar) decide to take a different path and start composing new songs. Vicent Riera will join later as a vocalist, to this first line-up. We record our first demo, “Disgusting Reality” at the end of ’89 and soon later asked Anselmo Roca (singer and guitar in AGGRESSOR) for cooperating in the OBSCURE’S live shows for playing the bass, but since AGGRESSOR split up, Anselmo stayed as a permanent member of the band.
It is in October 1990 when the recording of our maybe most knowed demo “Curse the Course” starts at “Distorsión hasta la locura” studios with a “4- tracks”. From then on, OBSCURE searches for more dense and powerful sounds by lower-tuned instruments and slower and heavier riffs, moving the sound of the band towards what is now known as Death Metal sound.
The band appears in several fanzines and underground publishings together with emerging bands from that moment like Entombed, Gorefest, Unleashed, Grave, Darkthrone, My Dying Bride…
We start our third and last demo “Non Existendi Cultus” in ’92, our most elaborated work until then. At the same time, Voris leaves the band. The next two years a number of worrying events discouraged the rest of the band’s members (moving to differents rehearsal rooms and labour circumstances…). It takes Vicent Riera and Anselmo Roca to start his own project and they leave the band as well. It supposed the final dissolution of OBSCURE.
It might be mentioned the futile attempt to resurrect the band with other members, by the year 2006, being a dismal failure.
In 2016 OBSCURE releases “Back to Skull”, wich collects our three demos. The idea of gathering the band once again, but this time with the original members came up, wich posed some problems that were resolved with Xavier Beleth (Noctem) joining us.
Then, reunited again, we got ready to release our first full-lenght album “Darkness Must Prevail” wich contains new tracks and unreleased songs from 90’s.
In 2023, Xavier B. must leave the band to fully dedicate himself to his main band, and the current singer Juanmi Serra (V.I.L) will take his place.
