Sobre The Riverbreaks
The Riverbreaks is a rock band known for its rowdy shows, raw emotion, and lyrical depth. Formed in 2009 around songs Ryan Bailey (lead singer) wrote in Central America during the Peace Corps, the band quickly developed a strong following in their home base of Washington, D.C. In 2012, they traveled to Chapel Hill, N.C., where many of the band members originally met at UNC, to work with acclaimed producer Chris Stamey (Whiskeytown, Roman Candle). The resulting album, Wildfire, featured long-term members Ryan Bailey, Jesse Prentice-Dunn (guitar), Andrew Satten (keys), Neela Rajendra (violin), and Drew Ball (bass), and was named a Top 10 Album of the Year by the Sun Herald. The band kicked off their Wildfire album release tour at D.C.’s prestigious Kennedy Center, and ultimately covered 20+ states, Canada, and Europe. In 2014, Ryan relocated to his hometown of Nashville, TN, where he began work on several upcoming albums. The first, How Still is the Night (January 2018 release) was produced by Skylar Wilson (Justin Townes Earle) and Jordan Lehning (Andrew Combs), and features gorgeous strings, a powerful horn section, and members of Steelism. The second, Caney Fork River (release date TBD), was recorded with producer/drummer Ken Coomer (Wilco) and is full of field recordings, swooping pedal steel, and tasteful guitar by Sons of Bill’s Sam Wilson. A third, almost completed project is in the works with multi-instrumentalist/producer Jon Estes. Expect music from all three projects soon. New music coming soon. For now, stream Wildfire, produced by Chris Stamey, at www.theriverbreaks.com/music
