Oxford, England’s Low Island came together out of a shared love of both dance music and indie rock, and a desire to create “a euphoria we didn’t always get from indie gigs, but a connection to songs and musicians we felt was missing from club nights.” Their recent album, In Your Arms, was created over the course of four years and a range of locales (including a rural French farmhouse), and infuses their sound with a deep emotional current that recalls pioneering indie-dance icon like LCD Soundsystem and The Juan MacLean (who remixed one of their tracks).
