Mike is 1 of 1. Nobody like squills either. Great performance and good crowd. Only thing is metro employees are equal opportunity assholes fr. Prob one of my least favorite venues to go to, but this show was a necessity so i thugged it out. Get out and see mike if You can, even if the venue is on that bulljive
Ginger root truly puts on a performance, playing City Slickers and Nisemono EP’s cover to cover (kind of), including a set complete with music videos, a narrative plot, outfit changes, guest appearances, commercial breaks, a Stevie Wonder cover and even a Q&A. The self described ‘aggressive elevator music’ is just right, sure to make you groove all night. Fit with a cameraman, three screens, and a three piece band, ginger root kept your attention. With driving drums, tight bass and fantastical synth tinged keys, ginger root is sure to put on not just a show, but a true production. The entire show was filled with banter and satire out the speakers and through the roof. Nisemono ( 2022 ) is a concept piece portraying the story of a young musician who quickly outgrows their musical prodigy set in the year 1983. The live audience became a part of the show, as the live audience for news channels and interviews. Bonus, if you speak Japanese
The Ugh made my Volvo into a sleeper for the night. Thought Wrigley was cool to park and sleep after the show. Maybe a bad idea! Still the dopest show, that night! Had to evacuate due to a super cool parking security bro who woke me up at like 3am. Honestly pissed my pants a couple time after the show ditching college bros that incorporated me into their crew. Sorry guys I had to ditch ya, I had to go, I bet the party was sick! Look forward to the next show vb. loved Zurich and Brooklyn
Show was amazing!
Due to the nature of the show (all ages, 3-bands, 45-minute hard stop), it was a shorter show, but Motel breakfast just killed it!
They ran through their set with an energy that is hard to get in a longer set. Song after song pumped the crowed and propelled the band to a new level. I’ve seen Motel Breakfast many times, but this had a different energy. This is a band that knows they belong, that expects to fill the house and that knows how to bring the intensity required to move to the next level.
Vended puts on an absolutely amazing live show. I loved every second of it. They're somewhat new to the scene, but this band is not one to sleep on. They are the real deal. They brought it from the second they took the stage. Griffin Taylor killed it on the vocals. Seriously impressive. The rest of the band was perfect. We were front row center stage! I anticipate great things from these guys in the coming years. Do yourself a favor and check them out live. You won't be disappointed. We had vip meet and greet, and my wife and I were the very first ones to meet them. The entire band was very kind, and we got great pictures with them. I will definitely come back out to see them again next time they're in the area. Love all the merch I bought too. Thank you guys for the setlist as well. I'm so glad we had a chance to experience this show, especially vip style. It was more than worth the price, which was amazing too.
While both of the opening bands were great in their own regards, Bloodywood more than proved themselves to be worthy as a headliner, with a set that was equal parts heavy, energetic and inspirational. This is a band whom I definitely look forward to seeing again in the future and whose career I sincerely hope to see rise meteorically in the near future.
First concert I ever went to, Bloodywood was amazing I. My friend introduced me to their music 2 weeks ago and then he said there was going to be a concert and I said why not but I didn't expect it to be this awesome! They were so wholesome and I loved how they had good messages and how they introduced the band. Will definitely be going to their next show
This show was the HEAVIEST damn TAS show I’ve been too in years. Even Vincent said “We’ve been a band for a long fucking time, and we’ve played MANY Chicago shows before, but I’ve NEVER played a Chicago show like this before! Holy shit! Thank you guys so much!”
Those mosh pits were on point. Shit was 🔥🔥🔥
Sacred Reich was one of the first thrash bands I got in to back in the day, but I had never seen them live until this show. They kicked ass from start to finish. Set was about 45 minutes long which was great for an opener however I could easily watch them play for another hour and have been thrilled. Great crowd banter with a genuine connection to the audience. A pleasant surprise on a show with three other great bands.
This was an experience to remember. First time seeing friko live and was blown away. Lifeguard was amazing, Cafe Racer was amazing. Everything from high-energy to gentle songs. Could not have been a better closing song, Cardinal highlights Niko's incredible vocal range and brought me close to tears. Can't wait to see friko perform again soon.
they were wonderful! the concert was so vibe-y and she, with no hesitation, stopped the concert to make sure we were okay :)) the solos were out of this world but the line for merch was so long since they set it up after the show :(( feng suave was also incredible! definitely recommend going to their show if you’re still able to grab tickets! 🫶🏼
Front Line Assembly played their latest album Mechanical Soul, hence the namesake of the tour. For the encore they played some fan favorites from prior albums, such as Resist (but surprisingly not Iceolate). Appropriately cyberpunk visuals were projected into them, such as a giant monolith sending out drones to patrol a post apocalyptic city and a foreboding android factory. The crowd was as interesting to watch as the band, dressed in their best black and leather.
Opening act was a quiet acoustic set that kept the crowd alive and alive with stories of … bugs - Enjoyable simple folk songs.
Mogwai layered their sound as they do and endlessly built walls of white noise and shoe-gaze wonder. No chatter between songs minus the occasional “thank you”. True to nature, trance like and immersive.
Even after nearly 2 years since LP’s last show and she didn’t skip a beat; I cannot say the same about my heart! It felt surreal and I am so unbelievably grateful that I got the opportunity to see her again. LP and the whole band looked so happy to be back on stage for a proper concert.
PURE JOY! I hope that she adds CHICAGO to her 2022 tour.
Okay so I'm giving this a 5 star for Jimmy eat world and their performance and how much of a fan service this was. They played the whole bleed American album and many other great songs fans love! Ending the concert with my top 3 favorite songs from futures! How awesome is that!? But I have a complaint and it's not about jimmy eat world. It's about the venue... This is my second time going to the Metro and it has been over 2 years and they still haven't fixed their sound. I'm no sound expert but I have been to enough venues to know there is something wrong with it. Every time the lead singer sings, the speakers just can't handle it and just start to muffle. This has happened for all of the 5 different bands of seen there. (There is many
other issues with the sound there) I now decided I'm going to avoid the Metro until I know they fixed the sound. I will only be going to metro for bands I absolutely love like jimmy eat world!
The first concert me and my wife go to just after getting married a couple days prior. And we see one of the greatest acts of a undefined Style new and unique artist that meches metal hip hop dubstep rap n21 beautifully dark Gothic style of music. Not to mention his bandmates himself and Stage performance was nucking futs.
I was in the complete front at the railing it was pretty awesome they performed well, the problem i had was more with metro, if your in the front at metro you can only hear 1/8th of the vocals. They could really adjust the sound to boost up the vocals. My other complaint was for the first 3 songs for guage away first 2 songs for nothing and the first 4 songs for basement they had these photographers in front of us. It was rediculous why did there have to be 10 photographers in front of us and why did they have to be up there the longest for basement. Also another metro complaint i had was the bodyguards were pretty aggressive and not doing thete job right. Instead of catching croud surfers they would just shove them back or shove them into the ground and were just super pissed off the whole concert. Basements performance was great! Nothings performance was actually suprising. And guage away just gave me a headache lol.
It was such an amazing concert. At the end I was left in tears this band has truly touched me. I’m so happy I finally got to see them it was worth the wait. They sing about such deep topics and not to give up they help me keep fighting and keep me going strong. Movements can definitely throw a great concert a night to always remember.
This was so fun!! I had VIP and the meet and greet was so easy and awesome!! He’s such a gentle soul... the concert was great, too, and the guest bands / opening acts were so interactive with the crowd and the music! Andy and his little band was also awesome, and the setlist matched what the fans loved. Thank you so much, Andy!!!
So so so fun! Her voice first of all, is so pretty and she did little intros that were so cool to start some of the songs and sang a song with just piano which was beautiful. My best friend and I had the best time ever only problem was, she didn’t play a few of her songs which made me feel unfinished but it was one of the best nights for sure❤️
