Anamanaguchi

Anyway grew out of the same uncertainty Anamanaguchi faced on 2019’s [USA], a record that pushed the band’s digital language into the physical world: American dread, internet overload, and the feeling of living inside systems too big to see. Where [USA] found real emotion bursting through glitched production and vast digital landscapes, Anyway turns toward the people inside that machine: four friends trusting in each other, making a band-first record out of fuzzy guitars, strained vocals, group harmonies, explosive drums, and songs that feel less like escapism than survival.

Since their start on online forums, Anamanaguchi have pushed the limits of what “counts” as a band — programming music on video game consoles, releasing free EPs through netlabels, headlining festivals in Minecraft, and collaborating with Hatsune Miku and Rocket League. But Anyway moves toward the opposite end of that online upbringing, pulling from the band's formative love of emo, punk, and indie rock to make their most direct and human record yet. Now they’re preparing ANYWAY FOR REAL: a version of Anyway where the aliens of the digital world invade their analog island fortress.
