Lang Lang, Piano

Lang Lang is one of music’s most enduring megastars, an artist recognized worldwide for his “charismatic stage presence, passionate playing, and astounding technique” (The New York Times). The program’s first half includes a lively opening piece by Mozart, a dazzling tarantella from Liszt’s Années de pèlerinage, and selections from two of the best-loved staples in the Spanish classical repertoire: Albéniz’s evocative Suite española and Granados’s demanding Goyescas. In the concert’s second half, Lang Lang performs two of Beethoven’s timeless piano sonatas: No. 8, “Pathétique”; and his penultimate, Op. 110.
