Josh & the Dirty Rags

Josh & the Dirty Rags is a nomadic Dark Folk project that’s been traveling across North America since 2022, blending raw blues with the rich textures of folk. Think banjo, accordion and melodies that make you feel like you’re dancing in a haunted barn. With deep, theatrical vocals, Josh grabs your attention like a toddler with a tambourine, impossible to ignore!

Inspired by the likes of The Devil Makes Three, Tom Waits and Amigo the Devil, the band’s sound is brimming with raw energy, pulling you into a wild, emotional ride. Josh Rags, a multi-instrumentalist who traded the chaos of Montreal for life on the road, uses the Dirty Rag as a metaphor for the heavy memories and stories he transforms into songs.
