Tom Abbott Biography
Tom Abbott is an 24 year-old from Massachusetts and is an alumni of New England Conservatory
His strong, unique, and wide-ranging vocals, creative composition, and slick guitar strumming have made him a crowd favorite wherever he has performed. His sound has been likened to Dave Matthews, Billy Corrigan of the Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Jo Armstrong of Green Day
Tom has been performing in bars, clubs and other public venues since age 14. First performing with a local rock band and now as an acoustic singer-songwriter. Tom started headlining solo shows in 2014 playing 2 hour sets of covers and originals. He has been invited and played gigs at the iconic rock club, The Bitter End, in NYC and plays regularly at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA.
In August 2015, Tom released his first EP - Shedding Light. Tom composed all the music and lyrics and played all the instruments - vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, ukulele, and percussion on the EP. Tom continues to compose and record new music and is scheduled to release his first full LP in the summer of 2017. Additionally, Tom’s music has been featured on Providence Radio 94 HJY on the Sound Check, local music show.
