Crooked Diehl Biography
Crooked Diehl is a Southern Folk Rock band from Memphis Tennessee. They began playing shows in May of 2022 at Rhodes College and expanded into Alabama as well, playing shows in Birmingham and Auburn. The band's first release "Live at the Garden" was their first showcase of original music, with music written by all five members.
The band consists of three Nashville natives Sadie Jackson (vocals) Fred Jackson (guitar) and Malcolm Bryan (bass and vocals), Zach Jennings (guitar and vocals) from Charleston South Carolina, and Boston born Jake Sanders (drums and bass). The band's founding members were the Jackson siblings and Jennings. As Fred and Malcolm attended high school together in Nashville, Fred invited Malcolm to come to a practice, and asked if he knew any drummers that would be willing to play, Sanders was the clear choice as he and Malcolm had played together in previous groups. On April 23rd 2022, they played their first show for a charity supporting St Jude. The set contained all covers, most notable of which was Miss You - Rolling Stones. The rest is history.
The band has continued to play in Memphis for the past two years at venues such as Railgarten, BSIDE, Hi Tone, among many others. After their second release of I Can't Love You Right Now, the band made plans to begin working on an album. The release date is not out yet, but their music can be heard almost every weekend in Memphis, while everyone patiently awaits their debut album.
